The vintage Chemold Margaret Court Signature Model wood racket offered is in fair condition and is a 4 1/2 Medium strung with nylon string. The head is warped. The wood edges in the head are worn down a little with most wear in the tip where you can see a slight transverse crack and a little lamination separation. Cosmetically there are a number of scratches and wear, but the lettering and decals are readable and intact, including the size and weight decals. I believe the racket was made for Chemold by the Davis Racket Manufacturers, because the shaft has the shape of the old Imperial racket. A little of the butt cap remains, but the butt end letter is gone. The grip looks original and worn.
Have a little bit of tennis history by owning the racket endorsed by one of the greatest tennis players that ever lived, Margaret Court.
On both sides of the shaft the decals state, "Winner of 1970 Grand Slam; Wimbledon French Australia and USA Titles." So we can conclude the racket was made in 1971 or after. Mrs. Court's picture is on each side of the throat below the words, "Margaret Court Signature Model."
